HERE WE GO YO!
I got up at 2 a.m., showered and got my ass out of the house. i took a cab to work, as i had missed the bus. Got money to make, and I am on a mission. I will be spinning at Caddyshack next Sunday, Christmas, and on New Year's night. My birthday is New Year's Day. I usuallt have fun as everybod parties on my birthday. I have a few new cd's to make and track, so that i can distribute some new tunes to the masses. addyshack is in bklyn, on 4th Ave. in Park Slope The club is very nice. I will be working with dj Fred Pierce, whom I have the pleasure of calling a friend and working with for too many years to mention. We both played for James Saunders, promoter of some of the best black gay parties in New York City, and his U-men U-sweat entertainment network. If you had the opportunity to experience the South Oxford Tennis club,in the nineties, then you got a once in a lifetime treat, as that club was the bomb, and as the Paradise Garage, will never be repeated. The parties were ova!! !!. Then he and Fred did the Octagon Fridays, as U+ Me Productions, and had a succesful 5 and a half year run. Dj Unknown and myself dj Calvin Smith, did the upstairs hip hop floor called the "boom boom room". The damned place stayed packed, hot and sweaty. One good thing about James' parties was that the straight peeps frequented them too! All colors of people, and all types. We even had celebrities come through, eventhough I am not at liberty to say who as everybody wanted to be there, but officially not there. The music was hotter than what you would get in a straight club. We also had the most peaceful parties as that was what people came out to do We did not have fights in the club. It was the largest black gay party for men, in the country with people coming from across the country to party. I received a lot of fame and notoriety from those affairs. I went on to work at many pride events across the country. Doing the L.A. beach party for 8 years in a row. I also did Atlanta black pride and D.C. black pride events. The next hot party was at the Bklyn Cafe. 2000 to 2003. For almost three years we tore it up over there. Me and djUnknown, and that was the biggest black gay hip hop party in the nation. The sound system was off the f**kin' hook! One New York Pride, we had Angie Stone. She tore shit up !! Real people. A sweetheart and a diva. I got to meet Olivia before G-unit, as she performed for us, too. There were more, but I will get to that later. Well, back to now, i am at work doing my thing, and now I gotta go. Later.....
