DOMINICAN ISLAND HEAT 2
I haven't posted here in a minute as i have been busy getting ready for the dominican island heat parties in the Dominican Republic. I was there for 15 days. The event was from 3/1 - 3/6, but I stayed longer so I could spend time with my friend there. There were a lot of people there this year. The opening party was very nice. It was at a club called Punto's. I am glad that I had taken premixed cds with me as there was only one cd player. The next party was on Friday night at Area, which is connected to Punto's, and is a well known, huge venue, in the Colonial Zone. A lot of locals came out for this party and the club was jumpin". Dj Relentless was there, too. He did his thing. Then I did mine. The crowd danced all night. Hip hop, house. reggaeton, merengue, salsa, and some bacchata were the order of the night. My Dominican friend was impressed, with the whole scene. He also got to see a dj booth up close and personal. Now he wants me to teach him how to mix. I want to give a shout out to Lawrence Pinckney and Kenny Stiles for putting on a wonderful event this year. I also want to thank them for thinking of me, for the work. I even put together a cd for the vip package. This was my first time playing strictly cds, as there is not a turntable in any club in Santo Domingo. I held it down though. I also want to thank Darnell Gamble from Capital Records for all the wonderful promotional stuff. The Dominican people are some of the most beautiful people in the world and they really showed us a good time and a very hospitable one at that.
